The GPICA will hold its next meeting at 7 p.m. Oct. 2, 2018 in the Greater Pine Island Elks Lodge, just west of the four-way intersection of Pine Island and Stringfellow roads.
Items on the agenda include:
- Candidate Bill Taylor, who is running against Lee County’s District 2 Commissioner Cecil Pendergrass. (Mr. Pendergrass was also invited to the meeting but declined because of a scheduling conflict.) Mr. Taylor is running with no party affiliation.
- Mr. Jim Roach, legislative liaison for the Greater Pine Island Chamber of Commerce, will briefly discuss legislative water issues.
- A presentation from the representative of a St. James City Resident who is making a zoning change request to construct a dock on his property that is longer than current zoning rules allow. GPICA members will vote on whether they wish to support the change. (GPICA votes are advisory to the zoning board.)
