March 3, 2020, Meeting Agenda

Please join us for the next meeting of the Greater Pine Island Civic Association!

The agenda includes a forum for the candidates for Lee County Commission District 1. The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3 and takes place at the Greater Pine Island Elks Lodge, 5630 Pine Island Road, Bokeelia (just west of the four-way stop).

Please remember that all Lee County voters may vote for all the commission seats, but District 1 represents Greater Pine Island, western Cape Coral, Boca Grande, Sanibel and the remaining barrier islands.

This forum will be one of the few that will be exclusively focused on District 1, allowing for more in-depth questions to candidates Dr. Michael Dreikorn of Bokeelia and Kevin Ruane of Sanibel. (Members of the GPICA board will moderate and will read written questions from the attendees.)

GPICA members and nonmembers are welcome and encouraged to attend to get to know your candidates!

Also on the Agenda:

  • We’ll provide an update on the revised Pine Island incorporation feasibility study (we’re still working on it — no new numbers to report just yet)
  • An update on the Publix being built on Pine Island Road, (north and east of the four-way) — we’ve sent a letter asking Publix to revise their signage so that it fits within the Pine Island plan.
