Updates on Island Parks and Waterways on the March GPICA Meeting Agenda
Please join us for the next meeting of the Greater Pine Island Civic Association to learn the latest information about Island parks and the clean-up of area waterways as part of the post-Ian recovery. Members and nonmembers are welcome to attend.
The main speaker at the meeting will be Jesse Lavender, Director of the Lee County Parks and Recreation Department, who will provide an update on Conservation 2020 lands on the Island and discuss what’s happening with park facilities following Hurricane Ian.
We’ve also invited Casey Streeter, commercial fisherman and owner of Island Seafood Market, to provide an update on what’s been happening with clean-up to area canals and waterways. Streeter has been organizing waterway debris removal.
We’ll also hear an update about the Greater Pine Island Alliance, a new nonprofit organization formed to aid Islanders with recovery in the post-Ian era.
- When: 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 7
- Where: Pine Island Methodist Church. The meeting will also be livestreamed to the GPICA
