Please Join Us Tuesday to Learn About the Fight to Save Captiva and Environmental Updates from SCCF
Please join us Tuesday, June 4, for the next meeting of the Greater Pine Island Civic Association. Our main speaker will be James Evans, CEO of the Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation (SCCF), who will provide an update 
on the lab, along with the latest news from the Protect Captiva coalition, which was established in June 2023 by concerned citizens and organizations in opposition to increasing building height and density on Captiva Island. The coalition includes more than 13,000 residents, organizations and other individuals who are fighting changes made to the Lee County Development code.
The GPICA Board believes these changes could have implications for our own Pine Island Plan, the development code overlay that dictates building height and density on Pine Island.
Join us to hear how Sanibel and Captiva have banded together to fight development code changes that could change the face of Captiva.
