September GPICA Meeting Canceled
Due to the Labor Day holiday, the September GPICA meeting, scheduled for Sept. 3, is canceled. Our next meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at the First Baptist Church of Pine Island, 5363 Ave. D, Bokeelia, 33922 (next to Pine Island Elementary School). GPICA Seeks Volunteers for September Roadside Cleanup
Volunteers are invited to join the monthly GPICA-sponsored Stringfellow Road cleanup on the two-mile stretch of road between Raymary Street and the little bridge near Four Winds Marina in Bokeelia.
- What: Volunteers Needed for GPICA Roadside Cleanup
- When: 8 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4
- Where: Meet at the post office on Barrancas, then volunteers will fan out along the road.
- Etc.: GPICA will provide trash bags/buckets. Please bring your own gloves and, if you have one, a reflective vest (GPICA has a limited number to share). Bring your own water in a reusable bottle and be sure to wear a hat and sunscreen and closed-toed shoes or waterproof boots.
