Please plan on attending the February 2 meeting of the Greater Pine Island Civic association, 7:00 pm at the Elk's Club. Our guest speaker this month will be Mr. Dave Crabtree from Lee County Code Enforcement. Mr. Crabtree will talk to us about the type of code violations the County is seeing on Pine Island. Our Island has escaped much of the foreclosure blight we hear about in other areas of the County; but there are other issues here on the Pine Island that Mr. Crabtree will talk about.

In addition, Ms. Linda Thompson from Lee County 20/20 will tell us about the need for zoning changes for the Galt Island and Pine Island Flatwoods Preserves and other small parcels. Lee County is in the process of rezoning some of it's Conservation 20/20 program preserves on Pine Island. Ms. Thompson will make a short presentation about this process.

Membership in GPICA is $10.00 per year, and all residents of the area known as Greater Pine Island, which includes Matlacha, St. James City, Pineland and Bokeelia, are invited and encouraged to join.
